RASC: Our Work

The Research Adoption Support Center (RASC) uses Implementation science to improve the scalability and sustainability of evidence–based practices for opioid use disorder and pain. The RASC team supports Innovation and Acceleration Projects to increase and sustain effective evidence-based practices in substance use prevention and treatment, and pain management. In collaboration with the MERC and DISC, the Center also engages voices from the field in a Board of Partners to inform the work of the projects. Lastly, through a series of rapid research projects, RASC addresses the barriers that hinder individuals and institutions from using evidence-based practices within their settings.

More specifically, the RASC has developed or is developing:

  • Implementation Guides and Measures: Simple and practical tools to select, engage, co-design, and co-produce programs with key partners from outside the research team; evaluate factors that affect the implementation of evidence-based practices; track implementation strategy use over duration of a study; and document implementation outcomes (reach and adoption) in non-implementation focused studies.
  • Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) Financing and Policy: A collection of strategies to overcome financing and other policy barriers to scaling up medications for opioid use disorders.
  • Evidence-based practice summaries: Substance use disorder and pain management evidence-based practice summaries (COMING SOON).
