The Addiction Health Services Research conference, held since 2005, annually brings together researchers, policymakers, and treatment providers to focus on how system redesign can effectively and sustainably be implemented. A slate of distinguished plenary speakers, discussion of cutting-edge health services research findings, the development of collaborative relationships, and support of the careers of junior and minority investigators are main goals that move forward an agenda of broadening the positive impact of prevention and treatment services for substance misuse and use disorders.
AHSR brings together multidisciplinary experts in diverse fields including substance abuse treatment, epidemiology, prevention research, HIV risk, health services research, health disparities, primary care, psychology, social work, and industrial and systems engineering. AHSR also aims to increase research capacity by increasing the level of collaboration between established investigators and more junior researchers.
