Publication Policy, Tracker, and Checklist
All HD2A projects and centers are required to review the HD2A Publication Policy and Procedures document and complete the checklist before the release of any HD2A-related products/publications.

Publication and Product Policies and Procedures
This document outlines policies and procedures to ensure that HD2A-related products/publications (a) follow authorship, contributor, and acknowledgment conventions and include appropriate funding attribution and disclaimer language, and (b) are provided to the RASC for summarizing into HD2A reports, disseminating via communication channels (if appropriate), and submitting to HEAL if needed.
This policy applies to:
- Peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed works
- Online-only and print publications
- Product guides, tools, or measures
- Conference products:
- Abstracts
- Paper and poster presentations
Throughout this policy, the terms “product” and “publication” will be used interchangeably, unless explicitly stated
otherwise.
Publication and Product Checklist
The checklist is applicable for:
- All single-center products (e.g., products developed by a single IP/AP project, Support Center, or NIDA)
- Prior to releasing any HD2A-related product, lead author(s) will review the policy and submit a copy of their product along with the completed checklist via Qualtrics
- Prior to releasing any HD2A-related product, cross-program lead(s) will review the policy and submit a copy of their product along with a completed checklist via Qualtrics
- Once the product has been submitted via Qualtrics, it will be reviewed to ensure compliance as outlined in this policy
- Cross-program teams can expect a response within ~5-10 working days
- If unresolvable issues regarding authorship, contributions, or acknowledgment occur
OR
- the product needs further compliance review, the HD2A Publication Committee will review the product and checklist and provide assistance within ~10 working days of receiving the referral
