SUMMARY:MERC/MAARC Simulation Modeling Interest Group
DESCRIPTION:The Simulation Modeling Interest Group meetings are an initiative to explore the potential of simulation models to increase impact and discover potential synergies in our work. For September’s simulation modeling meeting. Colleagues from the NIH Methodology and Advanced Analytics Resource Center (MAARC)\, which is based at the University of Chicago\, will be guest presenters. The long-term mission of the MAARC is to reduce opioid use disorder and overdose\, revolutionize opioid interventions\, and to impact associated epidemics such as mental health disorders\, HCV\, and HIV. The MAARC modeling team will review the nature of their modeling projects and the ways that they work with subject matter experts\, data resources\, and decision makers to enhance impact. \nLocation: Zoom\nZoom link: https://bostonmedicalcenter.zoom.us/j/94585717363?from=addon\nMeeting ID: 945 8571 7363

SUMMARY:Addiction Health Services Research Conference\, October 2024
DESCRIPTION:The Addiction Health Services Research (AHSR) conference\, held since 2005\, brings together researchers\, policymakers\, and treatment providers to solve the problems of inequity\, access\, effectiveness\, and implementation of addiction services. \nThis year\, the conference is hosted by the Center for Dissemination and Implementation (CDI)\, a Stanford University initiative\, at the historic Palace Hotel in the beautiful and bustling city of San Francisco\, near quintessential landmarks including the cable cars and Chinatown. \nAHSR Conference Website: https://www.ahsrconference.org/2024/

SUMMARY:HEAL Connections Sharing Session: Designing and Evaluating Health Care Innovations for Downstream Implementability
DESCRIPTION:HEAL Connections Sharing Session: Designing and Evaluating Health Care Innovations for Downstream Implementability \nJoin HEAL Connections on Nov. 20 at 2 p.m. ET for the latest Sharing Session: Designing and Evaluating Health Care Innovations for Downstream Implementability. To ensure that people have access to the best treatment for pain and opioid use disorder\, researchers are responsible for developing interventions that are both effective and readily translated into routine practice.    \nThe Center for Dissemination and Implementation Science at Stanford and the Research Adoption Support Center with the HEAL Data2Action Program have created practical guides and measures to support research teams seeking to develop implementable health care innovations. Implementation scientists\, addiction and pain management intervention developers\, and health services researchers collaborated to create simple\, pragmatic tools to help researchers increase the chances that their work can have a true public health impact. Join the webinar to learn more.       \nThe session will last roughly 90 minutes\, including Q&A. Register at https://bit.ly/Care-Innovations  \nThe Helping to End Addiction Long-term® Initiative\, or NIH HEAL Initiative® is an NIH-wide effort to speed scientific solutions to stem the national opioid public health crisis.
